It’s no secret that the Yellowstone Teton Territory is an ideal spot to grow hops and barley. Come harvest season when the seasonal brews are on tap, there is no better place to be to grab a pint full of fall flavors than eastern Idaho.

Grand Teton Brewing is pouring Dark Descent Stout. A rich and robust medium-body stout, the brewery claims this annual seasonal favorite “dances between the boldness of roasted malts and the luxurious sweetness of dark chocolate.”  Leave time to grab lunch from the brewery’s dedicated smash burger food truck, Otto’s Kitchen.

It’s literally Sweater Weather at Highpoint Cider. This season ferment highlights blood orange, vanilla and cinnamon without being too sweet. The tap room now features a pool table and is great spot to take a break in a low-key setting that feels more like a living room than a bar.

More beers to add to your mug club include a few stops in Driggs and Idaho Falls. When you head north to Driggs, hops fans can taste the season with Citizen 33’s microbrewery’s Imperial Club Hazy IPA and One Moore Märzen.

In Idaho Falls, Snow Eagle Brewery, another one of the region’s microbreweries, is serving not just craft recipes and American pub fare, they brewpub features traditional Japanese dishes and sushi—which has developed a cult following on its home turf. And, Idaho Brewing Company’s Tasting Room is a favorite spot to grab a pint with a westward view overlooking the Snake River and a cozy fireplace.
