If you’re looking for endless play with access, the Yellowstone Teton Territory is your go-to destination—not for the wilderness but for the greens.

With public courses in Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Teton Valley, Ashton, Rigby and Ririe, you could build out a masters’ worth itinerary under the mountains, and at an affordable rates—so everyone in the family can get out and take a swing at some summer time fun—not just Dad. 

Aspen Acres Golf Club’s combination of tee-to-green elevation changes, dog legs, narrow fairways, and undulating greens make the mountain view course the most challenging 18-hole course in Fremont County, and it’s probably due to the views too. Yellowstone Golf Resort’s executive course plays through views of the Grand Teton and Centennial Mountains in addition to pastoral settings and the large Aspen grove. 

Pinecrest Golf Course’s→ 18 holes are  formerly known as Idaho Falls Municipal Golf Course, was acquired from the Idaho Falls Country Club by the City of Idaho Falls in 1934. At that time, the Country Club was a sand greens, dirt fairways type golf course. In 1957, the National PGA selected Pinecrest Golf Course to be included on the regular PGA Tournament Schedule.

Sage Lakes Municipal Golf Course→ is an 18 hole course in Idaho Falls that provides a fair test for the good player yet forgiving for the less gifted player. The character of Sage Lakes is its Scottish Links appearance with a few water hazards added. Multiple tees provide each golfer a strategic test of their ability. The teeing surface area is large enough to accommodate the expected rounds per month without causing undue wear. Multiple tees varies the yardage from 5,000 yards to 6,800 yards, playing to a Par 70. Moderately sized greens are large enough to disperse the wear of heavy play.

Sand Creek Golf Course’s→ 18 holes are  located one mile south of Sunnyside Road at the intersection of Hitt and Township Roads in Bonneville County, three miles south and two miles west from the Ammon City Hall and seven miles north and three miles east of the City of Shelley. The location of the course makes it accessible to over 100,000 people. Due to the popularity of the game and the fact that Pinecrest was the only course in Idaho Falls, the need to build Sandcreek was made.   The City Council authorized William P. Bell and Son, Golf Course Architect, to design Sand Creek Golf Course on June 25, 1970. Charles Deming, Golf Course Superintendent/Manager, was appointed by the City Council as Construction Director.

Island Park Village Resort→ a 9-hole Golf Course with full amenities in beautiful Island Park Idaho, just 20 miles from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The course is open 7:30am to 8:00pm seven days a week, May-October.

Rexburg Municipal Golf Course→ features 9 holes where children under 12 can play for free with every paying adult. You’ll also find an 18-hole Footgolf course for those looking for a new take on traditional golf.

Teton Lakes Golf Course→  features 27 holes of adventure including an all-natural driving range. “This 27-hole facility is owned and operated by the City of Rexburg and is a tale of three nines. Billy Casper designed the first 18 holes that opened here in 1987; the North Fork 9 is heavily wooded, while the South Fork 9 features water on all but one hole. The third nine here, the Mid Fork 9, opened in 2009 with a design by second-generation architect Rick Phelps and features a sort of modern links-influenced flavor with a noticeable amount of sand along the way.”

Jefferson Hills Golf & Recreation→ is an 18 hole, semi-private course Located in Rigby, Idaho, Jefferson Hills Golf Course is renowned for its pristine condition year-round. This golf course offers breathtaking views and a thriving ecosystem of wildlife, creating a truly immersive experience for players.

Heise Hills Golf Course→ is a 9 hole course built in  1975 by Mike Quinn and designed by course architect Chuck Denning. The course is adjacent to Heise Hot  Springs Resort, a year round resort that includes hot springs, water slide, camping and a zipline. The course is open Mar 1 to Oct 31. The clubhouse offers full-service rentals and merchandise,  and is also home to locals’ favorite,  Heise Pizza.

Fremont County Golf Course→ is a 9 hole course built in 1967 by Marvin J. Aslett. Fremont County Golf Course is near St Anthony, and open to the public Apr 1 to Oct 1.

Timberline Golf Resort→ is Nestled among the quaking aspen and pines lies a 9 hole course to challenge both the young and old, novice or master.  Just off Highway 47, amid the quiet grandeur of the Tetons in Northern Fremont County, one finds the Timberline Golf Resort, an off the beaten path destination that combines mountain adventure with modern amenities, and plenty of wildlife.

The Links at Teton Peaks→ is a 5 star 18-hole golf course located in Driggs, Idaho. Designed by David Druzisky, the course is a links style course that fits seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. In keeping with the links style design, Teton Links has imported grasses from Scotland to create the visual effect of playing on a true links course.

Teton Reserve→ was designed by three  time U.S. Open Champion, Hale Irwin.  Teton Reserve challenges seasoned golfer while remaining generous for a beginning player. The par 72 layout has plenty to offer golfers of all abilities, including strategic bunkering and outstanding conditions. With a fully stocked pro-shop, the Reserve makes sure you have a chance to take in a mountain valley views while enjoying a snack and a cold drink.

Targhee Village Golf Course→ runs side by side with the Targhee National Forest, and seeing a moose in the pond, or a sand hill crane nesting on the island can often require that players take pause to notice their surroundings and while keeping their eye on the ball on this 9-hole, par-36 course in Alta, Wyoming.
