Lace Up Your Skates!
The Yellowstone Teton Territory loves to get out on the ice. With rinks throughout the region and a minor league hockey team in Idaho Falls, if you’re looking for an activity for when the weather isn’t on your side or something that everyone in your family can enjoy, there’s always a chance to glide into recreation.
In Teton Valley, Kotler Ice Arena is home to youth hockey programs, adult hockey figure skating, curling and hosts regular pick-up games and free skating throughout the week. Check out the Teton Valley Foundation website for schedules and upcoming programs.
Near Rexburg and located at Veterans Park in Sugar City, Rink 99 keeps ice skating affordable for the Yellowstone Teton Territory with fees of only $10 and under.
The Lakeside Lodge in Island Park is a one-stop rental and a chance at some wild ice while ice skating with views of Jefferson and Sawtelle peaks.
Around Idaho Falls, The Joe Marmo/Wayne Lehto Ice Arena is southeastern Idaho’s premier ice facility that offers high-quality hockey and ice-skating programs as well as non-skating recreation and entertainment events. Check the Idaho Falls Parks and Recreation page for schedule and upcoming programs.
Those who think the ice is too chilly can always lace up their roller skates at Starlite Skating off North Woodruff Avenue in Idaho Falls.
Or, you can just buy tickets at the Mountain America Center’s 4100-seat arena for the next time the Idaho Falls Spud Kings drop the puck. Members of the NCDC West Division of the USPHL, the level of play in this junior hockey league remains unmatched. Attending a Spud Kings game is the perfect add-on to your upcoming winter itinerary in the Yellowstone Teton Territory.
