Find Your Fete: From Plein Air to Bluegrass, Summer is Filled with Festivals

Summer is best enjoyed from the outside. In the Yellowstone Teton Territory, Idaho’s endless daylight hours are the perfect excuse to gather, pop a squat and take in the tunes and the art.
So whether you’re planning a bike trip in the backcountry or a hike along the Snake River, make time to catch dinner or lunch at the many events happening along the way to your favorite trailhead.
Idaho’s oldest art organization, the Eagle Rock Art Guild presents the 70th Annual Riverwalk Art Festival July 26-27. A beloved community event celebrating creativity and artistic excellence, the festival is held in conjunction with the Idaho Falls Farmers Market along the scenic Greenbelt. This two-day festival showcases an impressive collection of original artwork from talented artists across the region.
After a lap in town, head north, float on the Henry’s Fork and end with Pioneer Day Weekend and the Island Park Festival at Sawtelle Mountain Resort (Pioneer Day Weekend), the week of July 25th-27th. It makes for the perfect one day itinerary in the Yellowstone Teton Territory, with a mix of art and nature.Â
The 14th Annual Driggs Plein Air Festival will take place for registered artists from July 23 – August 2, 2025. Public Festival dates are Sunday, July 27 – Saturday, August 2. Artists and collectors enjoy many activities like the extended Exhibition & Sale, Opening Reception, Quick Draw Competitions, Collectors Night, Workshops, Paint-Outs, Competition Awards Ceremony, and Closing Reception. 2025 marks the first year the Festival has implemented a juried entry process, with 70 national selected artists invited to participate in both events and the formal competition. Art enthusiasts, bargain hunters and collectors do not want to miss the opportunity to bring home Teton vistas and hang them on their walls. DDA’s Downtown Series happens throughout the summer in the Driggs City Center Plaza. Learn more information about times and performers here→.

Art enthusiasts should add a stop at Willard Arts Center while Yiddan Guo’s show “The Souls of Resilience†is on display in the Carr Gallery. Her portraits are homages to Immigrant and Refugee Women. In her artist statement, Guo said “In works like my self-portraits—rendered against blank or minimal backgrounds—I use emptiness as a metaphor: both the rootlessness of displacement and the possibility to redefine oneself. The lack of context denies easy categorization, inviting viewers to see the women beyond the labels of “immigrant†or “refugee.†In every portrait, there is light: a gaze that speaks of survival, a posture that claims dignity, a spirit that refuses to be erased.â€
