Fatbiking Feb 2025

Cruise the snow like it’s summer. Fat biking–a bike outfitted with a 4-inch wide tire to grip snow is nothing short of its hype. With options to add studded tires and or go e-bike, wheeling through winter has never been more fun.Â
There are over 50 fat bike-friendly trails in Jackson Hole and Teton Valley, there are many opportunities to get to and explore beautiful snow-covered trails from easy, beginner (flat) trails to hilly singletrack. In Island Park’s Harriman State Park, riders can loop the Trumpeter Swan-filled waters with 24 miles of single-track fat biking groomed.Â
The Ashton-Tetonia Trail extends nearly 30 miles between the towns of Ashton and Tetonia, Idaho and is managed by Idaho Parks and Recreation. This partially paved trail occupies an abandoned rail spur that was once operated by Union Pacific (the Oregon Short Line) and remains a go-to tour for cross-country skiers, snowshoers and fat bikers to take into the views of the Tetons, and how the Yellowstone Caldera has shaped the Yellowstone Teton Territory.Â
Wheel Wranglers in Victor, Idaho Mountain Trading in Idaho Falls, EndoPeaks in Driggs all rent fat bikes.Â
