Think you’ve seen every kind of maze? Corn mazes or straw mazes? Welcome to The Haunted Hemp Maze in Menan — a one-of-a-kind adventure made entirely out of hemp fiber!
This Fall activity is only open in early fall and has many different ages in mind – family friendly or haunted and many different activities for different ages
A Maze Made of Hemp (Not That Kind)
This isn’t your typical fall maze. The twisting paths are built from giant bales of industrial hemp fiber — not the holistic kind, so don’t worry, no funny business here! Just a clever, sustainable way to celebrate harvest season.
The farmers behind the maze have been growing hemp fiber since it was legalized in 2021, and this year they decided to create something totally unique. The result? A maze that’s HIGH-ly confusing (pun totally intended) and a ton of fun for families. We’re joking of course, the hemp fiber is a completely different crop than holistic hemp.
Haunted on Weekends, Happy on Weekdays
Weekends: The maze turns haunted! Ghosts, jump scares, spooky music — all the fall fun.
Weekdays: A calm, family-friendly version perfect for little ones (or scaredy-cats).
If you love a good scare, come on the weekend when the maze transforms into the Haunted Hemp Maze. If not, plan your visit during the week for the friendly, not-so-spooky version. Either way, it’s worth checking out!
Family Fun on the Farm
This place has so much more than just the maze. Kids can ride Little Tikes tractors, swing from a swing hung from a pivot (does it get more Idaho than that?), and scoop corn into tractors from the corn pit. There’s also cornhole to play with friends.
The apple cannon is a fan favorite. Aim for an old van and other targets and watch your apple explode on impact. It’s ridiculously satisfying.
Don’t miss the slide — my kids spent hours going down.
There’s even a full school bus built into the maze itself.
Supporting Local Farmers
What makes this place extra special is the heart behind it. These are local Idaho farmers using their creativity and hard work to make something fun for the community. By visiting, you’re not just getting an awesome fall experience — you’re supporting local agriculture and innovation.

What Exactly Is Hemp Fiber?
Hemp fiber comes from the stalk of the hemp plant. It’s strong, natural, and incredibly versatile — used in everything from clothing and rope to paper and eco-friendly building materials. Farmers also use it for animal bedding because it’s absorbent, resists mold, and even helps prevent odors naturally.
It’s durable, eco-conscious, and now, apparently, perfect for getting lost in!
Between the twisting hemp paths, the apple cannon, the giant slide, and the mix of spooky and family fun, the Haunted Hemp Maze is a hidden gem that makes fall in Idaho so special.
Whether you come for the scares, the slides, or just to say you got lost in Idaho’s first hemp maze, the Haunted Hemp Maze in Menan is a must-visit fall adventure.
