Mesa Falls Marathon
ABOUT
The Mesa Falls Marathon and Half Marathon races begin in the Targhee National Forest near the headwaters of the Warm River and end in the city of Ashton, Idaho. The 10k, 5k and 1-mile races start and end at North Fremont High School in Ashton, Idaho.
HIGHLIGHTS
It is held in small-town Ashton, Idaho. It is recognized for its stunning, scenic route near Yellowstone National Park and its friendly, relaxed atmosphere. This race is often described as a “runner’s race,” designed to offer a beautiful, natural experience rather than a crowded, high-production event.
The racecourse features a unique, varied, and scenic blend of surfaces. The first 14 miles are on blacktop with trees on either side, followed by 3.2 miles of packed, forested trails along the Warm River, with the final section on paved, open country roads.
Runners experience views of the Targhee National Forest, the Teton Mountains, and the Lower Mesa falls.
The proceeds of this event go to supporting local high school cross country teams.
